My dearest Dad, I love you,
And on this special day
There are so many things that
I feel, but seldom say.

You put your love in action
By all the things you do.
I've learned to live for Jesus
With trust, by watching you.

You give me Godly counsel,
With wisdom in your voice,
While still allowing freedom
To make the final choice.

The praises of another
Bring pride, and make one glad.
